I'd encourage you to try out rift missions on the beta branch and check out if things are going more smoothly now, so that we can confirm the crashes are fixed!
I've set a fix live on the beta branch that fixes some crashes related to rift missions starting. The patch version is still 2.2.2, since it's server-only and compatible with 2.2.2 clients, but the revision number is different.

@Ethan_Pow We'd love that as well, but the game would have had to be designed for that from the ground up - and it wasn't. We've tried Gamepad integration, but it wasn't possible to do in a well working way.
