“When your childhood is shaped by responsibility, it can be hard to know where you begin.”
Something is coming this Carers Week…
We’re excited to be handing over our Kooth podcast to @mytime_charity Carers Youth Action & Advisory Board (YAAB) for a special takeover.
Hosted and produced by young carers in Dorset, aged 16-22, this three-part podcast series creates space for real, unfiltered conversations about what it actually means to grow up caring.
Across the series, YAAB explore:
💬 The reality of resentment and the emotions that often go unspoken
💬 The gap between public perception and lived experience
💬 Reclaiming identity beyond the caring role
If you work with young people, we’d invite you to listen, reflect, and share with any young carers who might benefit.

Stay tuned - the takeover is coming soon.

"We meet them where they are.”
Effective mental health support isn’t just about having a platform; it’s about integration.
At Kooth, we work alongside local systems - partnering with schools, GPs and local communities to create a seamless web of care. Our Engagement Leads are the human bridge in this system, embedding themselves into communities to make sure every young person knows that help is available.
This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, we’re sharing some of the "why" behind our work. These quotes from our team highlight the impact of meeting young people exactly where they are.

“I was particularly struck by the passion and drive the young people I spoke with demonstrated regarding mental health awareness. They were not only keen to use Kooth to support their own wellbeing, but also eager to share it with their friends, families, and schools.” Kooth Engagement Lead, Ginder Kundi , after attending “Hopes & Dreams” at City Hall.
Across the day, Ginder connected with young people who were curious, open and motivated to make a difference in how mental health is talked about and supported in their communities.
It was also a great opportunity to collaborate with partners, from workshop leaders like @TheMOTSCharity to Youth Council representatives and organisations such as @MakeVotesMatter
Moments like these are a reminder of why accessible, youth-focused mental health support matters so much, and how much impact young people can have when they’re given the space to lead the conversation.

Young people are talking about stress. Are we really listening?
For Stress Awareness Month, we’re sharing an episode of the Kooth podcast created with young people, for young people, in collaboration with Manchester charity, HideOut Youth Zone.
In this episode, we hear from Max, Kane and Jennifer as they open up about “secret stresses” – the everyday pressures that build up but often go unspoken. It is an honest and relatable conversation that offers real insight into what young people are carrying right now.
This is a strong example of the content we create for and with young people across our service. Their voices shape what we do, making support relevant, accessible and grounded in real experiences.
If you commission or work with services for young people, this is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from them. It can help deepen understanding of the small but significant things that affect their wellbeing.

What a fantastic day at Wembley! 🏟️ ⚽️
We’re proud to be among the partners committed to improving lives through football. It is inspiring to see such a purposeful, energised network focused on building long-term impact for the London community.
Excited to keep building these foundations with London Football and this incredible group.
“We can’t expect to have all the answers ourselves, and it’s ok to ask for support.” - Prince William.
It’s encouraging to see conversations about mental health, especially men’s mental health, being brought further into the spotlight.
Hearing influential voices openly discuss emotions, vulnerability, and the importance of asking for help normalises these conversations and makes it easier for others to do the same.
Let’s keep the conversation going, keep educating, and keep reminding people that support is there and ensure that accessing help feels possible and stigma-free.

What does bridging the gap in mental health support actually look like?
It’s embedding ourselves within our communities. From delivering assemblies at @MonkseatonHigh and @BelmontAbbey, to collaborating with NHS Healthy Heads and local GPs, the goal remains simple: ensure every young person knows where to turn.
⚽️ One highlight: Joining the South Tyneside Young Carers at @SouthShieldsFC. Whether it’s in a school hall or a football stadium, meeting young people where they are is how we continue to build an accessible ecosystem of care.
Huge thanks to all our North East partners for the incredible warm welcome!

Exam season doesn’t just show up in the classroom.
It shows up at the dinner table. At bedtime. In worried conversations and silent pressure.
That’s why we’re inviting parents and carers to join a free 45-minute Kooth webinar to support young people who are stressed about exams.
In this practical, supportive session, a member of our Community Engagement team will be joined by a Kooth clinician to share:
• Simple, realistic strategies to help young people manage exam anxiety
• How to spot signs that suggest a young person may need additional support
• Guidance on when and how to take further action
• How Kooth can provide safe, accessible support alongside what families are already doing
If you work in schools, healthcare or community settings, we’d really value your help in sharing this with the parents and carers you connect with.

As part of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we spent the day at Sunderland College speaking with students about emotional resilience, healthy relationships and, most importantly, how to access support when they need it.
It’s one example of the wide range of workshops, assemblies and engagement sessions we deliver in schools and colleges across the UK. The aim is always the same: make support visible, make conversations normal, and ensure young people know they’re not on their own.

According to research from the @CentreforMH, a young person’s "place" is defined by two things: safety and agency.
In a world that can feel increasingly unpredictable, "This is My Place" is a call to action for us to protect the environments where young people feel they truly belong - whether that’s a local youth club, a quiet corner of a library, or a supportive digital community.
At Kooth, we believe that creating these "places" isn't a luxury; it’s a necessity.
That’s why we pre-moderate every single word shared on Kooth before it goes live. We also age-gate all content using our evidence-based framework and ensure young people can access support in a space designed around both safety and agency.

“I found community with Kooth” (young person on Kooth).
‘This is my place’ - the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week - is more than just a feeling, it’s giving young people space to feel safe, heard and better understand their wellbeing.
To support our community of partners, schools, and parents, we’re hosting a series of Special Campaign Webinars throughout this week. These sessions are designed to provide practical insights into how we can all help young people find their "place" and protect their mental wellbeing.

This Children’s Mental Health Week, we are exploring what "This is My Place" truly means. For many young people, finding a "place" isn't about a physical location. It’s about finding a space where their voice is heard without judgement. One of those places at Kooth is our pre-moderated community forums.
It’s where a young person can:
▪️Realise they aren't the only ones struggling
▪️Share their journey safely and anonymously
▪️Find solace in others' stories
By providing a moderated, safe environment, we ensure that every young person has a community that understands.

For many, the biggest barrier isn't just the struggle itself, it's knowing where to turn and trusting the support available.
That’s why our Engagement Team is so valuable in acting as our “feet on the street”, raising awareness and embedding our services directly into the heart of local communities
Our team last year alone reached more than 850k children and young people in school/college settings and thousands more through webinars.
From raising awareness and educating young people across the country to training frontline staff, our team makes sure mental health support is never far away.
You might have heard today called #BlueMonday, supposedly the “most depressing day of the year.” But the truth is, mental health doesn’t follow a calendar. Low mood, stress, or anxiety can happen anytime, and it’s normal to have ups and downs. 💭
What matters is checking in with yourself, friends, or family and knowing where to find support when you need it.
We are here to provide free, confidential, online support for young people and adults, every day.
