Zelenskyy built a big wall and laid barbed wire not with Russia, but with Europe. To stop his own citizens from fleeing to free countries where people aren’t kidnapped, thrown into basements, or persecuted for criticizing the government.
Zelensky closed the borders. Those trying to leave are caught, and sometimes killed. There have been cases where young men were simply shot, here:

Zelensky’s Ukraine reminds its own citizens of North Korea or East Germany with the Berlin Wall.
Nowhere in the world, in history, has anyone ever banned their own citizens from leaving a war-torn country - this is a human rights violation.
But the ban doesn’t stop Ukrainians - they’re trying to escape this “Shawshank” any way they can.
So Zelensky is pouring billions of dollars into securing the border with the European Union against his own people, even using drones.
In Russia today, borders are open. Putin doesn’t forbid his citizens from leaving.
But Zelensky, having become a dictator, decided to trap people inside to serve as cannon fodder for the front.

One more key point: all of Zelensky’s friends, business partners, and relatives can freely leave the country—no restrictions for them. Typical for a dictator, right?

Zelensky catches Ukrainians at the border like dogs, but he’s a “kind” dictator—he’s given citizens an official way to leave.
You just need to pay between $20,000 and $50,000. That’s the price of freedom.
Two years ago, the cost was around $5,000–$15,000.
But the rate’s gone up - it’s corrupt income for Zelensky, his team, and all the security forces.
Ukrainians are selling their apartments and cars to pay off Zelensky’s regime for the chance to leave the country.
Thanks to closed borders, Zelensky’s regime has pocketed $7 billion in three years!
That’s why Zelensky refuses to lift martial law and open the borders for the sake of peace - it would mean losing a massive corruption hub.

Moreover, Zelensky uses closed borders to control the opposition, opposition politicians, and leaders.
Zelensky opened a fake criminal case against opposition MP Dubinsky for leaving the country.
Today, Zelensky banned opposition MP and party leader Petro Poroshenko from traveling abroad!
Imagine if Biden or Scholz banned their critics from leaving the country while they themselves could travel freely whenever they wanted!

Ukraine has become Shawshank for its own citizens. And Zelenskyy has become its warden, Samuel Norton.
