How should undersized pitchers approach training for velocity?🤔
We've coached hundreds of pitchers under 5'11" throwing 92+ mph, and we ran the numbers on what makes them different from their less vertically challenged counterparts.
Mass? Momentum? Rotational velocities? Sequencing? Impulse? Ground force?
A 45-minute deep dive that lays the groundwork for how to approach the process.

Baseball doesn’t need to choose between feel and a data-driven approach. The best player development happens when feel, coaching, biomechanics, and performance data all work together. Check out this article about how we can better bridge that gap. https://t.co/ISmt7k0mUM
We often treat mobility like it's only about improving range of motion. But It's just as important to build strength throughout that range. And it doesn't have to be boring, post-session busywork — it can be baked right into the lift.
@VernonGriffith4 has a ton of great examples of building strength and range together across multiple joints.
This is the direction the game is heading. Biomechanics isn't a luxury in player development anymore, it's the foundation. Glad to see more and more collegiate programs investing in it.

Pre-game looks at ‘25 @UCSB_Baseball signee Cade Goldstein (@cade_goldstein).
The 6-0, 185-pound SS out of SoCal getting ready to go here in Texas. Looks like he plays loose and can pick it. Strong arm across the diamond and some bounce in the step. Good make up, def a ballplayer.
