This story of Regina Re is a symptom, not a disease.

It runs deep. Children have only exposed its wounds.

Let me explain,

For those who don't know Regina, she is a celebrated TV host in Kenya who used to host popular TV Quiz shows like "Who's Smarter Now?"

In this tragic event, her daughter was having an intimate moment with her boyfriend in Regina's mother's house.

When Regina's mother (the grandma) confronted the girl, together with her boyfriend, they were suspected of having conspired to murder the old woman in cold blood.

The old, helpless woman was found in a pool of blood, with 20 stab wounds.

It is only the neighbours' CCTV that revealed the bloody drama.

Then, having known what happened, Regina posted an uncanny condolence message on Facebook.

But the questions are:

1. What is Regina's daughter doing in her maternal grandmother's house? Doesn't she have a home?

2. Where is her father?

3. Has she been indoctrinated that if the old woman dies, they will inherit the property?

Regina's brother, who is abroad, appears to agree with the prosecution of the suspects,

This, to me, means that the old woman could have been the impediment preventing them from competing and fighting over her property, and the earlier she died, the better for them to divide the Loresho property.

For a grandchild to hate her grandmother, it is a symptom of underlying bitterness, and hate which can't be hidden by children.

Our grandmothers are golden.
