🎯 Goal:
Develop structured midfield decision-making in a 4-2-3-1 shape with emphasis on half-space occupation, positional rondos, and intelligent timing of runs. Trains players to read visual cues, support from behind, and link zones under pressure.
❓ Why?
This activity anchors midfielders in their functional game roles. The inclusion of half-space zones demands players think beyond static positioning—forcing movement in/out of pressure lines and sharpening the decision of when to enter the hot zones. Limiting touches raises the tempo, while offside and restart constraints mirror match conditions. It creates layered learning:
•🔄 Repetition with variability (via positional rules and progressions)
•🧠 Scanning + communication in compact spaces
•🎯 Tactical triggers for overlapping fullbacks and linking central midfielders
