One can observe both the silence of the business world and the presence of regulatory pressure.

Chandrasekaran himself had stated that he would not continue in the role; yet, the Tata Sons board proceeded to reappoint him, despite opposition from the trusts. Noel Tata contends that the resolution is invalid. When a board appoints a chairman in defiance of the trusts, it certainly raises questions about whether the process is being treated as a mere game.
