Football would never be the same again. Just like Cricket has never been the same without @sachin_rt .

GOATs have truly rested :(

[Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano]

🩵🤍 Full statement by Lionel Messi: “I wrote these words on July 21, two days after the final… today, after what happened with my dad, I’m even more convinced of this decision than before”.

“After all this time since the final, and after thinking about it a lot, I want to tell everyone that I’m retiring from the national team.

"It was a decision that hurt and still hurts deep inside, but I understand that this is the right moment.

"I swear I always gave everything, not only in these last few years when we won everything, but before that too. I always fought and gave everything for this shirt, to bring you happiness and make you feel proud to be Argentine through football.

"There isn’t much time left, and different chapters are coming to an end. This is one that hurts me a lot. I love, I loved, and I will always love being part of the national team. I gave everything I had, and I don’t have anything more to give.

"Also, there are great young players coming through who deserve to be here.

"Thank you for all the love during these 20 years. I’m going to miss hearing you from the inside. Now I’ll be one of you, always supporting from the outside, in the good times and even more in the bad ones.

"Thank you to my family for always being there and for being with me throughout this beautiful but difficult journey. Thank you to every coach, teammate and director I had the chance to share it with. I take with me unforgettable memories and moments.

"I leave with peace and pride, knowing that together with my teammates we gave you moments we once dreamed of. It was crazy to experience all of this with you. I love you!

"Thank you God for making me Argentine.

"Vamos Argentina!

A Spain vs Argentina #fifa world cup final , what else could a Barcelona fan ask for. Dream Cup.

[Mayank Kothari @kotharimayank14]

These Argentinian men are fighters. Giving everything on the pitch, and us fans the joy of watching a pure masterclass day in and day out.

Spain today saved the world from the toxic fanbase of a man-child, a crybaby.

@mountain_rats Being abusive yourself , and expect people to be respectful.

You are not rational when it comes to football, have a set perception and no amount of brilliance from a little man from Roasrio can change it, unfortunately, for you.

Now why is that , with all due respect .

[Mayank Kothari @kotharimayank14]

@BInformati71086 Rr chose to bat first.

[Mayank Kothari @kotharimayank14]

@ANI Oooh, shots fired !!

[Mayank Kothari @kotharimayank14]

@mountain_rats It would be France vs Spain in the final , of they don't cancel out each other before.

Spain to win trophy anyhow.

@TechEssenceX @Indianinfoguide @grok how much water is required to generate 360kg H2?

[Iceland Cricket @icelandcricket]

Dear @ICC,

It is with a heavy heart that we now announce our unavailability to replace Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Regardless of whether they now withdraw, the short timescales ensure it is impossible for our squad to prepare in the professional manner necessary to compete effectively in this global cricketing spectacle. We are not like Scotland and able to turn up on a whim, with no kit sponsor.

Our players are from all walks of life and cannot simply drop their occupations to fly halfway around the world to experience temperatures only normally felt in Finnish saunas. Our captain, a professional baker, needs to attend to his oven, our ship captain needs to steer his vessel, and our bankers need to go bankrupt (again). This is the harsh reality of cricket at the amateur level of the game.

This news will be extremely disappointing to our fans. Despite being the most peaceful nation on Earth, we maintain an army of online followers, and are the world's 14th most followed national board on X. We were ready to give the Dutch the biggest shock they have experienced since William of Orange lost the Battle of Landen in 1693. And the Americans were looking forward to taking on Greenland, or so their orange-dyed leader thought.

Our loss is likely Uganda's gain. We wish them well. Their kits cannot be missed unless you have epilepsy, in which case they are probably best avoided.

The future is always ice, until it isn't.

Yours sincerely,

Icelandic Cricket Association
