Today Kathy Babers from the Louisiana 4th Congressional District stopped by our office for a tour of operations. We demonstrated the forecast process and warning operations and discussed how we communicate weather information with core partners.
A significant portion of the KSHV WSR-88D SLEP pedestal replacement process was completed earlier today and here is an animation of this process. As a reminder, the KSHV radar will be back in operation by January 14th if not earlier. #OKwx#ARwx#LAwx#TXwx
Ever wondered just how large a radar tower's radome is? Here's a photo of some of our staff members standing next to it for reference! The radome was temporarily removed this morning so the radar pedestal can be replaced as part of the NEXRAD Service Life Extension Program.
