Deeply saddened by the news of the horrific explosion in Mundathikode, Thrissur, claiming at least 13 lives and leaving many more critically injured. My heart goes out to the families of the victims who have been shattered by this sudden and devastating tragedy.
The scale of the blast, occurring as the city was in the midst of preparations for the iconic Thrissur Pooram, is truly harrowing. I am sure the local authorities will ensure that the injured receive the highest quality of medical care and that the families of the deceased are provided with every possible support during this dark hour.

Safety at fireworks storage facilities is a recurring concern that demands more than just post-facto inquiries; it requires a fundamental overhaul of oversight and stringent adherence to protocols to prevent such recurring heartbreaks.

Praying for the recovery of those fighting for their lives in hospitals. All Kerala stands in mourning today.

1/ I have filed a complaint against @Rajeev_GoI for filing false affidavit on 4th April, 2024 as the @BJP4India’s candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections from #Thiruvananthapuram #Kerala, against @ShashiTharoor of @INCIndia, with the @ECISVEEP.

As per his Affidavit -

1. He has filed income tax returns of Rs. 680 in 2021-22.
2. His movable assets are approx 9 crores 25 lakhs (approx) and immovable assets are 14 crores 40 lakhs (approx), misrepresenting grossly.
3. He has only one bike - 1942 Model Red Indian Scout/Regn. No. KA 05 E 8515 purchased in 1994 of Rs. 10000.
4. His profession is social service.
5. Hasn’t disclosed his major holding company - Jupiter Capital and has only declared subsidiary companies to hide the complex web of companies used to hide his true assets.

Scrutiny of his Affidavit by Returning Officer Mr. Geromic George (DEO & District Collector, Thiruvananthapuram) today! He has the power to reject Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s nomination as per Representation of People’s Act, 1951 r/w Conduct of Election Rules 1961.

President Biden has presented our PM with a book of poems of Robert Frost. Was he conveying some subtle message? These four lines from Frost's ‘Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening’ had been copied out by Nehru and kept on his table:

Nehru's masterly biographer S. Gopal had drawn attention to this in 1984 in Vol 3 of his trilogy on Nehru. These lines had been translated into Hindi too by Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
