A #UNT program helping foster kids transition into college is getting support thanks to a $40K King Foundation grant. The funds provide @UNTPUSH students with housing, a meal plan and the chance to take college classes early. Learn more: https://t.co/7RGMbdrpKP
@constatively There is always the good old rubric for evaluating a creation the Ss make. If we are leveraging tech at the highest levels this is the goal, to have Ss create a separate item that utilizes the info learned. #LTEC6010
@KinardWidad @constatively@AEreman Good lesson design happens with any course when the person designs with the end in mind. It's why Analysis is the start of ADDIE and why the TEKS are considered by K-12 Ts when starting to plan a Unit. If you don't know where you're going, You'll not get there. #LTEC6010
@constatively It can cause classroom management issues. It depends on the relationships the teacher builds with the students (no replacement for F2F) as well as the mix of Ss in the class. Of course, this is from 14 years of anecdotal evidence, not a formal study. #LTEC6010
@constatively Yes. I'm not sure about how to set it up. Are we testing the info from the video from edpuzzle for our data? There are a million ways to get data both tech and not. Or we can test against another class who didn't use edpuzzle/tech to have a c/c between data/no data. #LTEC6010
@constatively They can rewatch until they understand the video (segment at that point) and can answer the question. I should have been more clear. #LTEC6010
@FranTechTeacher@constatively @AustinHaynes3 @ReemMZD Yes, I fight this with 8th graders in US History all year long. They want to do "cool things" whereas I insist on them actually knowing their info and I leverage the tech for them to think critically while using it. They do come back to visit though, so I can't be all bad :)
@constatively @AustinHaynes3 @ReemMZD And this is why we no longer do it. It only lasted a few years and got the principal a fat promotion. We are a neighborhood school and the Ss had absolutely no buy-in. We were a new, Net Zero, 1:1, PBL, 6-8 school. It did NOT go well at all. Ah well...
@constatively share documents via Google suite, etc. I don't think that we can set up a way to test harm v benefit for this. Like @EdTechMellissa stated students are proficient at communicating in different ways, so who do we test at what level? #LTEC6010
@constatively Considering these writings are from the 70's, I would argue that tech today doesn't distort nearly as much. There are so many more ways to communicate technologically there is no reason for human communications to be unclear. We can use Zoom, videos, make cartoons, #LTEC6010 1/2
@EdTechMellissa@constatively@FranTechTeacher I was just coming here to talk about SeeSaw. I am waiting anxiously for my daughter's Kg Tr to get her on, so I can see what she is doing in class and see what her understanding level is! (I was an ITS for a while before going back into the classroom)
@constatively Depends on how well tech is used. If the correct tech is leveraged well; it can work. However, the Ss have to do their part as well. If there is no motivation, it doesn't matter how great the tech is. Then again, if there's no motivation F2F, nothing matters either. #LTEC6010
