Nigeria Has 35 Million Hungry People, That’s Enough To Form A Country - Zekeri
About 35 million Nigerians are facing hunger. This administration has also pushed about 140 million Nigerians into multidimensional poverty. For the President’s spokesperson to dismiss these legitimate concerns of Nigerians is deeply disappointing and unacceptable.

🚨Roy Keane on FIFA’s new mouth-covering red card rule after Miguel Almirón was sent off for covering his mouth during Paraguay’s match against Turkey at the 2026 World Cup:
🗣️ “I understand what FIFA is trying to do. Everyone wants discrimination out of the game. That’s not even up for debate.
“But sending a player off because he covered his mouth while speaking? Come on. We’re losing the plot here.
“Football is an emotional game. Players are under pressure, they’re frustrated, they’re competing. They’re going to talk to each other. They always have, and they always will.
“What happened with Miguel Almirón is exactly what fans are worried about. Nobody knows what was said, yet the punishment comes first. Since when did covering your mouth become a straight red card offence?
“You can’t referee suspicion. You have to referee actions.
“If a player says something abusive, deal with it properly. No arguments. But if we start handing out red cards based on the possibility that something inappropriate might have been said, where does it end?
“Today it’s covering your mouth. Tomorrow it could be arguing with an opponent or showing a bit of emotion after a tackle.
“The best players in history—Maradona, Cantona, Rooney, even half my old teammates—wouldn’t last five minutes under rules like this.
“Football isn’t meant to be sterile. It’s not a boardroom meeting. It’s a competitive sport played by human beings, not robots.
“Fans fall in love with passion, personality and rivalry. Take all of that away, and you take away part of what makes football special.
“Good intentions don’t always make good rules, and this one feels like a step too far.”

IN A COUNTRY WHERE THE PRESIDENCY CAN BE BOUGHT WITH CASH, IT IS TIME FOR ELECTORAL FUNDING REFORMS
https://t.co/ro5ME6EV9V
This week, I argue that we often wind up with terrible elected officials because campaigns are often funded by people who are rich rather than by people who are good.

Dear Gov @GovernorInuwa, Hon. Babangida Adamu Jigawa,
When we visited Nafada LGA in Gombe state, we observed that there are no access roads to link the communities around the lga. There are no functional roads connecting Barwo, Tasha, and Guduku communities. Similarly, no accessible roads linking Nafada town to Jolle, Mada, and Njalkam. No roads linking Madaki Lamu, Shaganawa and Gurajawa as well.
This situation is particularly concerning, because of how it has severely limited mobility, market, access to healthcare etc.
The health facilities are not motorable and because of this, emergency access is extremely difficult. The communities remain cut off and sometimes landlocked when it rains.
We implore your office and the @FMWNIG, @FedRoadsNGR, to facilitate the construction of roads so these communities can access infrastructure.
