@sweat_nancy@ToddWhitaker @ULLCSCHOOLS @DrJhodge1906 @patwleary My principal is really great at finding ways to make us all better. I feel really fortunate.
@MisterCavey@realrapreynolds Saying “good morning” is also what every other human we interact with needs. We should not treat students differently than the other humans in the building.
“Attention is the beginning of devotion” Mary Oliver. Mixed in with all these colours are splashes of one of my favourites. If I stop long enough to really look, I can find something I love in this image.
@TeachersOnFire It really depends - if it is a good controversial question connected to the topic, or a shared problem to try to solve together, then it is so interesting to learn from others, but if it is some kind of ice breaker for the sake of ice breakers I don't enjoy those.
@mshoneybest Well a single word is not a discussion, you asked them to discuss, so I would say that the one word answer is just beginning to demonstrate an understanding, not fully proficient but emerging
Love this. It is true anywhere where humans are working together I think. And in teaching, the “cohesion” “camaraderie” parts can be hard to achieve because we are separated into classrooms.
@MisterCavey@DRSmithauthor Parents need to keep this in mind too. I remember when my sons were in 7th grade how over scheduled they were, I ran around like an overworked sled dog driving them from one sporting event to the other. They loved it, but it came at a cost. I was responsible for that.
@TeachersOnFire I was given the template before hand, loved thetransparency, but I put myself under pressure to hit everything on the checklist. I was affected by the checklist, whereas a list of principles of good practice may have been more helpful and my lesson more authentic.
