💗A story called “The Shape of My Heart”, by Mark Sperring, inspired the Grade 2’s to create heart maps to show the people, places and things that live in our hearts. We talked about ways to celebrate those we love, showing kindness and reasons why we are grateful 💗 @htubman2015

⭐️We had great math discussions today as we talked with partners about these beautiful quilt designs. We noticed patterns, directions, shapes within shapes, irregular and regular polygons and counted shapes… amazing job Grade 2 mathematicians! Math is everywhere!⭐️

A highlight of our week was “Take Me Outside Day”. Grade 2 had so much fun with a nature scavenger hunt! They also wrote and drew important messages about taking care of our environment. Great work scientists! @htubman2015

🐸The Grade 2 scientists researched a variety of animals and worked hard to independently create habitats. The students displayed creativity, problem-solving and enthusiasm with their projects. Excellent displays of realistic habitats and presentations. Well done!🦒@htubman2015

December will be fun at Harriet Tubman as we get ready for the holidays. Students can participate in as many spirit days as they wish. Since we won’t be having our traditional Whoville Dinner we will be having a Whoville costume contest on Wednesday, December 16!
