You are selling because you think it's worth less.... I am buying because I think it's priceless... We are not the same..Learn #Bitcoin and keep stacking.
I gave this talk at MIT the day after the #Bitcoin halving, 10 months ago.
The focus? The mechanics of how the halving drives an 18-month bull market.
It may feel like Bitcoin has done a lot in the last year, but the best part is still coming.
FORMER FINANCE PROFESSOR TAD SMITH: "After 25 years teaching finance, I realized at 58:
If the money printer grows 8-10% annually and the S&P 500 returns ~9%, it’s just treading water. True wealth comes from outpacing the printer.
That’s the #Bitcoin journey." 👏
I’ve been thinking alot recently about
“how much Bitcoin is enough?”
@americanhodl8 called for 6.15
@BritishHodl called for 1
The 6.15 train is gone for most, including single digit millionaire boomers
Getting to 1 is still possible for the paper-wealthy boomers if they’re willing to HELOC or take an early withdrawal penalty on their retirement account…
…but if they haven’t already begun stacking by now, they are likely too much of a coward to run off the tradFi plantation in such a big way.
So it begs some questions…
What should the universal stacking goal be for the class of 2025?
What if you’re a young person just starting your career?
What if you haven’t had decades to accumulate assets that could be reallocated to Bitcoin?
What if you work a “normal” job, have bills to pay, kids to feed, and minimal surplus income?
If you just “got” Bitcoin within the last year, stacking 100,000,000 sats is an impossible task if you’re starting from zero — especially as this thing continue to run up.
What are you to do?
What’s the new “magic number” of Bitcoin that you need to acquire?
0.33
33,00,000 sats
1/3rd of a coin
At $100K BTC this is $33,000 worth
The median net worth for an American in their thirties is $35,000 — safe to assume most of that isn’t liquid
(Boldly) Assuming they have $10k lying around, they can smash buy and get themselves their first .1
If they bring in $45k/year after tax, and aggressively stack with 1/2 of their income,
they should be able to claw their way to .33 over the next few years as BTC rips higher into six figure territory
Let’s do some napkin math
21,000,000 BTC
- 1,000,000 (satoshi coins)
- 5,000,000 lost (low ball estimate)
- 5,000,000 perma HODL’d
Now you’re down to 10,000,000
- 200,000 belong to the US Gov
(I expect Trump will pad an SBR up to a nice clean 1,000,000 but we’ll go with this for now)
- 500,000 for $MSTR
- 1,100,000 in the ETFs
So we’re left looking at ~8,200,000 BTC that are realistically available
For 8,000,000,000 people on earth to compete for?
That’s .001 BTC per person
Having .33 Bitcoin will put you more than 300x above the “average.”
Moreover, if we reach sat-dime parity in real terms, this would be ~$3.3 million in purchasing power — enough for a modest retirement
Try to get as many sats as possible
But if you’re a young buck starting from zero — set your sights on 0.33 BTC
