The French Government is getting rid of Microsoft Teams
The French government is phasing out Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other non-European video conferencing tools in public administration, replacing them with its sovereign platform Visio.
The rollout is progressive, with full adoption across all state services targeted by 2027.
Visio, already in use by around 40,000 civil servants after a year of testing, is hosted on French infrastructure and includes features like AI transcription.
The move aims to enhance digital sovereignty, improve data security, and save costs up to €1 million annually per 100,000 users by eliminating foreign licenses.
