Suspicious Links: Links in emails or texts that direct users to look-alike websites designed to steal credentials.
Browser Notifications: Scammers are using platforms like "Matrix Push" to send fraudulent browser notifications that trick users into giving up login information.
How to Stay Safe
Amazon and cybersecurity experts recommend several key steps to protect your account and information:
Use Official Channels Only: For any customer service, order tracking, or account changes, go directly to the official Amazon website or mobile app instead of clicking links in messages.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): This adds a crucial layer of security that helps prevent unauthorized access even if scammers obtain your password. You can manage this in your Amazon account settings.
Adopt Passkeys: Consider using passkeys, a safer alternative to passwords that use biometric data (face or fingerprint recognition) or a PIN for signing in.
Never Share Sensitive Information: Remember that Amazon will never ask for your payment information or account details over the phone, via unofficial email, or through text messages.
