@Isa_11_AC@downbadcomment TBH, I wasn't expecting even a single comment from someone who understands how intellectual conversations happen.
Kudos. Even if my post doesn't make sense to you.
@JonathanLappr9y@Isa_11_AC@downbadcomment Fair.
But you see, most of the comments are not replying like this sane comment of yours. They are emotionally charged as if she cheated on them.
@SentinelCitadel@downbadcomment You don't want to hear @SentinelCitadel talk about serious stuff that requires brain usage.
I specifically wrote the words "irreversible damage". What part of murder looks like reversible damage to you that you're comparing my position on cheating to murder investigation?
@MajorKelly401@downbadcomment What do you mean by class conscious marxist bullshit?
I am saying exactly what you repeated: It might be true that one act of infidelity might not mean the relationship is doomed.
That's it.
@davewith1hat@MEQCS131901@downbadcomment That's a stupid statement.
It's like saying "stealing is stealing no matter what".
Even though we have examples ranging from a hungry person stealing bread to a CEO of a corporation stealing money through corruption from a public fund or something
@estrad_i@downbadcomment I know. But that's a women problem, not a cheating problem. Men usually get away with it sadly. Misogyny prevails in most parts of the world still.
My post is about when we talk purely about the concept of cheating regardless of gender.
@Aesedeh@downbadcomment I get your point.
But try to get my point too. Me saying it's not irreversible doesn't mean it's a small thing. It's obviously a grave moral act and condemnable.
But the overreactions of the people about cheating always feel like too much for me.
@dichromark@downbadcomment Yeah I know. And I try to raise my voice for them with even more intensity.
But the problem in those country is not that they are acting due to the concept of cheating, actually they are acting on the basis of gender (women are oppressed much more). Men usually get away with it
@Steve_blumpkin@downbadcomment Not in Islam. But in some Muslim countries, and also in some non Muslim countries.
Also, what makes you think I'll defend that? I will oppose that with even more force than what I am doing here.
@DocIppon@downbadcomment Wrong.
The husband deserves more empathy than her.
But he is ALREADY getting that empathy from the crowd (rightfully so).
She deserves some criticism and admonishing, but not to this degree.
@eljacoboaqui@Isa_11_AC@downbadcomment It is a question of both morality and intellect.
Also, I know that monogamy and loyalty are signs of not just high morality but also high intellect.
But that doesn't mean if someone fails to do so, you banish them with harsh punishment. Talk it out first.
@nightixzo@downbadcomment Yeah, you can't unfuck someone, but that's also true for someone marrying a divorcee or widow/widower.
How is that an irreversible damage?
It is a sin and a grave moral act, but there can be different levels of who cheated and why.
@2944x@downbadcomment Never defended cheating
Only talked about how there can be levels of cheating.
Someone cheated because they were in a weak moment and were broken inside.
Another person cheated because they were horny and selfish and didn't think of their spouse as valuable.
Both are not same
@wikkedbatt@downbadcomment I agree that Someone sleeping with a different person while being married is breaking the vows.
But what is irreversible in that?
From a realistic perspective, irreversible harms mean things like death, injury, etc.
This is what I mean when I say it's a first world problem.
