"Yesterday I adopted the oldest, sickest, and sorest shelter dog. I'll never forget his eyes.
When I went into the cage he didn't even bother to look, he knew I wouldn't even see him.
Curling around the corner He'd accepted his fate. The volunteer said to me many times...
Are you sure this one? Are you sure? YES! This is my dog.
He opened the cage and 3 animals fell on me.
I ran towards him, suddenly he looked at me as if he saw an angel... I hugged him and told him that now he'll be happy again.
Now he sleeps in my lap... probably the first peaceful sleep he ever had.
Give it a life. Give it a hug. They need us."”

@TrekDocFan@MattRexroad The Board Pres escalated the response of the crowd. She lost control of the meeting and it looks she’s to blame. That’s not ok. The public— whether we agree w/ them or not— should be allowed to speak their views civilly during Public Comment. That’s part of democracy.
@MattRexroad According to TT’s post, he was invited by students.
Bullying? No. Politics.
P.Boys were there; not asked to leave. Trans kids & parents were.
When office holders r disrespected, so is the office & our democracy.
Too many fought & died for us to dis their lives for partisanship.
@margiek350@BrohawnMicah@jzikah@HC_Richardson Margie: how do two parties work together in a democracy when one of the parties is actively trying to dismantle democracy and is bent on oppressing the people?
I’m all for working together, but if we want to continue to be a democracy, I fear we’ve reached an impasse.
@BrohawnMicah@jzikah@HC_Richardson Yes, homelessness a big issue here in CA. Many issues contribute. Tough to admit end result of a market system of for-profit housing is homelessness.
But in other ways, CA is good. We still have public libraries & haven’t kicked anyone out of our state leg. for being a POC.
This was Gen Z earlier today in Wisconsin. They just flipped the state Supreme Court from conservative to liberal in a massive victory for abortion rights. (h/t @Lnsciales)
Maybe cable news channels can take a tiny break from covering what Trump had for lunch to show the massive crowds of young people flooding into Nashville to demand Republicans pass gun reform. https://t.co/Mo9CwT3oAr
@oneunionmom Oh! Forgot to mention we created a contract which we discussed & all signed when we gave each of them phones. The contract laid out the rules, & we took a lot of time explaining the *why*. Whether our kids agreed or not, IDK, but they didn’t argue much bc they wanted the phones.
@oneunionmom When another student was bullied so badly on social media to the point of hospitalization for 5150, our kids actually thanked us that we had forbidden social media until 18.
I wish more parents asked the questions you’re asking. And feel free to show your kids my tweets.
@oneunionmom Yes.
