📢 📢Some personal news, as they say (a 🧵) ~ I'm in my final days at the @HoustonChron. Words cannot express how much I've learned covering energy and the electric grid, but mostly from working with the team on the business desk. 1/7
HAPPY WNBA TO PORTLAND DAY TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE 🥳🏀 (I am not covering for @OPB because I have my first case of Covid 😭 - I'm fine, just very tired - but once I'm better I'll definitely be following the economic impact of PDX finally getting a team!) #WNBA#WNBATwitter
The real takeaway of this first week is what reasonable longtime WNBA fans have been saying all along: Caitlin Clark needs a little grace and W vets deserve waaaaay more respect than they’ve been given by people who haven’t actually watched the league.
I got to take a trip to my former workplace @SundanceNatFood for @OPB to learn more about the business structure made famous by @patagonia ☀️ It's one of my favorite stories I've worked on, very excited to share it with the world: https://t.co/hM2nTY0cKS
HAPPY WNBA DAY TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE 🥳 Got to chat with @OPBmorning about why it's still an exciting day in Portland even though we don't have a team (yet)🏀 Also, a few legends make an appearance 👀🐐

Lots of talk on diversity in journalism recently. From my perspective: diversity and inclusion brings accuracy, because stories are more fully told. A diverse staff helps accuracy: a basic journalism value. Other benefits are great, but fairness and accuracy are important.
There is a FLOOD of articles about record shattering viewership for the #NCAAWBB tournament, and I'm grateful to add mine for @OPB to the collection. Big thanks to @togethxr@aflac@DianaTaurasi and @nnekaogwumike for chatting with me for this story 🏀 https://t.co/9bqjxoGNhy
BIG things are happening in Portland this weekend, and I got to write about it for @OPB! Appreciate @sportoregon, @TheSportsBraPDX and @UOWarsawCenter for sharing insights for this story 🏀 #NCAAWBB
