As a leader, SILENCE IS NOT GOLDEN!
When your team becomes silent, there are 2 reasons and neither is good.
1. They don’t feel heard or valued. OR
2. They are afraid to speak out of fear of retribution.
Only real leaders understand this….
BREAKING: ESPN has *FIRED* @samponder, who is one of the ONLY women at the network to speak out against biological men playing in women's sports.
Ponder made headlines in May 2023, when she agreed with swimmer @Riley_Gaines_ speaking out against Lia Thomas participating in women's swimming.
Ponder quote tweeted Gaines and said that it is not “hateful to demand fairness in sports for girls.”
USA Today columnist Nancy Armour attacked Ponder for her views. She claimed that they reflected "bigotry" and were a "sham."
Ponder, who served as the host of ESPN’s NFL Countdown since 2017, responded to Armour’s criticism.
She tweeted that “biology is not bigotry” and added that “loving people does not require the absence of boundaries.”
Former ESPN colleague @sagesteele, who has become a vocal advocate for biological integrity in competitive sports, backed Ponder's views.
"Pathetic attack on a WOMAN who is simply fighting for other WOMEN in sports," she clapped back. " Chooses to lead her emotions vs facts. 'Follow the science', right?! When in doubt, just pull the bigot/race card! Comical. Stay strong @samponder .. this is a lonely fight, but it's worth it!"
ESPN claims Ponder was terminated due to "budget cuts."
I understand the need for empathy when it comes to transgender athletes. I understand that Iman Khalid is DSD and obviously this must be very challenging in ways we can’t imagine. That said, where is the empathy for women with XX chromosomes who train their entire life only to be potentially met with an unfair playing field and in extreme cases, safety concerns.
It’s entirely unacceptable that the rights and opinions of ALL stakeholders, explicitly including xx female athletes are not being considered. The punishment and reprisal of these women for voicing their feelings on the matter is bordering on fascistic. Their concerns should be closely considered as an entire generation of upcoming girls may never get the opportunity to fulfill their dreams no matter how hard they work. The scholarships, titles, world records, prize money, Olympic opportunities, endorsement deals could all eventually become out of reach. This looks like a world without Serena Williams, Lindsay Vonn, Simone Biles, Ronda Rousey and many more.
Only when we agree that these issues must be addressed can we truly work toward solutions for inclusion, safety, and fairness. Each governing body for all sports needs to grow a spine, look at the data, and seek out solutions. Stop gaslighting the world by claiming there is no cause for concern. Only a flat earther would actually believes this! People just fear retribution should they point out a naked emperor.
Won’t repost the filth from the Olympics..
Disappointed but not surprised..not sure why it’s a part of the event..
But know this..
There was a last supper that led to an empty tomb.
A tomb that for three days held the body of the God-man Jesus who just prior to the tomb, indeed had a last supper with his disciples before he willingly climbed on a cross…
carrying with him, in a selfless act of grace, all the sins of all the world,
past, present and future sins…
and bore the wrath and judgement of a righteous and holy God so that we..
me, you, them, all of us.. would no longer be bound by the sins that entangle us..
but be set free from its grip on our minds, hearts, bodies and souls.. even free from the grip of death itself.
There was a last supper, that led to a blood covered cross, that led to an empty tomb. Proclaiming victory over sin, death, and hell.
So that we might be invited to an eternal banquet!
The last supper led to the 1st empty tomb.
A victory won. Thank you Jesus for the last supper.
