@nickstirkster@alexwickham Ok, and it's only taken him 28 months to obliterate Labour's popularity. Did you sleep through the local elections? Labour needs a new and credible leader. Wake up to reality.
@SophyRidgeSky Surely he meant "delusional" not resilient. He has no power and no loyalty. He is prioritizing himself over labour and the country.
He can't even replace the multiple Ministers who are conspiring against him. Nor would he have had the influence to block Burnham from running.
@iainjwatson In the scenario where Keir has NOT set out a timetable of departure, then yeah it's really easy to imagine that the next six weeks will be a humiliating, slow-motion rebuke, potentially capped by the ultimate humiliation of being ejected immediately following Burnham's triumph.
@benrileysmith It seems a bit hard to imagine him winning a Reform-favored seat without explicitly running against Starmer.
Will be humiliating for Starmer if he hasn't already out a timetable.
@DPJHodges Of course they should try that. But she would be a fool to jump on board a sinking ship.
Might as well ask Andy Burnham to be Health Secretary while they're at it.
@nicholaswatt Sorry, but does this comment make any sense at all? If you "have a good story to tell", then that's even more of a reason to get a better storyteller as leader. Starmer isn't convincing anyone anymore. It is over. It has ended. Wake up from the delusion.
@AlFromTehBlock@admcrlsn Yeah, a lot of differences! Different dynamic, different problems, etc.
But also a lot of commonalities! And it turns out pragmatism/centrism can be good governance.
If this race is who can unrealistically promise the most punitive billionaire tax, it's not ending well for CA.
@admcrlsn You could say literally ALL of these things, including that zing, about Lurie running in SF. Now a very popular mayor.
The far left loves to sneer at the center left, but it turns out being supported by the biggest industry in the state can be a *positive* thing...
@WakeUp2Politics The number and length of recesses is nutso, considering how little work they do when they are in town (and how often things are done via CR).
Anyone in DC who makes fun of TMZ on this is braindead or brainwashed.
@lbarronlopez@MSNOWNews This is really sad. I'm not suggesting that this stuff should not be reported, but I do wonder whether the reporting on this disrupted the process and led them to change their mind :(
@nursebro01@iDrSunny Nursebro01, local idiot, learns that met police are inept for the rich and poor alike.
Like 95 percent of the crime is solved here. They refuse to lift a finger for the final 5 pct.
If this was a TV show, you'd yell at your screen for being unrealistic
