🚆 Project Updates | Railway Doubling Project – S&T Progress

📍 Baiyyappanahalli–Hosur Section (48 km)

Significant progress is being made on the Baiyyappanahalli–Hosur Railway Doubling Project, with key Signalling & Telecommunication (S&T) works currently underway.

✅ The old gate lodge signalling equipment has been successfully shifted to the new gate lodge, including the Operating Panel, EKT Circuit, Emergency EKT, and Telecommunication Circuit. Additionally, the EOLB was successfully commissioned at 15:10 hrs.

✅ At LC-109, drain-cum-retaining wall construction along the new cable route is in progress.

📍 Lottegollahalli – Yeshvantapur Bypass Block Section

As part of the Yeshvantapur –Channasandra Doubling Project, significant progress has been achieved between Lottegollahalli and Yesvantpur Bypass Block Sections.

Current progress - ✅ Doubling Line

* ✅ Blanketing over the formation has been completed.
The section is now ready for track linking, marking a major milestone towards commissioning of the doubling line.

✅ 4th Line Development

*✅ Earthwork has been completed and the formation is ready for blanketing.
* 🌉 Construction of 3 minor bridges is currently in progress to facilitate the development of the 4th line.

KRIDE Showcases the Future of Bengaluru's Suburban Rail at the 7th Rail MetroTech Conclave & Expo India 2026

KRIDE proudly participated as a Premium Stall Exhibitor at the 7th Rail MetroTech Conclave & Expo India 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 22 to 24 July 2026. The conclave is one of India's premier platforms for the rail and metro sector, bringing together policymakers, senior railway officials, infrastructure developers, technology providers, consultants, industry leaders, and international stakeholders to deliberate on emerging technologies, policy reforms, and the future of sustainable rail and urban mobility.

At the exhibition, KRIDE showcased the vision, progress, and engineering excellence of the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project (BSTP) through an engaging and comprehensive display. The pavilion highlighted the project's transformational impact on Bengaluru's urban mobility landscape while demonstrating KRIDE's commitment to delivering a safe, sustainable, integrated, and world-class suburban rail network.

The exhibition featured:

* An overview of KRIDE, its institutional mandate, and its strategic role in planning and implementing Bengaluru's suburban rail network.

* The Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project (BSTP), highlighting its project scope, innovative Rail-over-Rail engineering solutions, shared rail corridors, seamless integration with Bengaluru Metro, and sustainable infrastructure development.

* Environmental sustainability initiatives, including comprehensive tree management, environmental mitigation measures, and compensatory afforestation programmes.

* Multimodal Integration (MMI) strategies aimed at providing seamless connectivity between suburban rail, Metro, bus services, and other modes of public transport.

* Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) initiatives and community development measures implemented in accordance with national regulations and international best practices.

* Advanced engineering innovations and specialized design features that reinforce KRIDE's commitment to building a resilient, efficient, environmentally sustainable, and future-ready urban mobility system for Bengaluru.

KRIDE's pavilion attracted significant interest from government agencies, railway organisations, infrastructure developers, consultants, technology providers, academia, and industry professionals. The exhibition provided an excellent platform to showcase KRIDE's engineering capabilities, exchange knowledge on emerging railway technologies, and strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders across the rail and urban transport ecosystem.

MD, KRIDE Highlights Indigenous Innovation and Advanced Technologies as Pillars of India's Future-Ready Railway Ecosystem

New Delhi, 22 July 2026: Shri Lakshman Singh, Managing Director, KRIDE, participated as a VIP panellist in the flagship session on "Strategic Indigenisation of Railway Projects in India: Building Global Competence in India" at the 7th Rail & Metro Technology Conclave & Expo 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The high-level panel brought together eminent leaders from the railway and metro sector to deliberate on India's journey towards developing a globally competitive, technologically advanced, and self-reliant railway ecosystem in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

During the discussion, MD, shared insights on the strategic progress of the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project (BSTP) and its seamless integration with Bengaluru's evolving multimodal transportation network. He highlighted how the project is poised to transform urban mobility by enhancing connectivity, reducing travel time, and promoting sustainable public transport.
The panel also deliberated on the transformative impact of Industry 4.0 technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twins, and the Internet of Things (IoT), on the future of railway infrastructure. Key themes included the widespread deployment of advanced signalling and train protection systems, the emergence of smart and integrated railway stations, predictive asset management, data-driven operations, and the development of climate-resilient infrastructure capable of meeting future mobility demands.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Lakshman Singh remarked:
"Technology is not the objective—people are. The true success of railway projects lies in making rail travel safer, more reliable, more comfortable, and more sustainable. The BSRP KRIDE RVNL RPPL JV team successfully conducted the Monthly Audit Rating Score (MARS) and Monthly Electrical Safety Audit across the Corridor 4A stations as per the scheduled audit plan, with the active participation of the project team.

The audit comprehensively evaluated the effectiveness of the project's mechanical and electrical safety management systems, with a focus on:

📚 Training Program: IR Safety Training

📍 Venue: MDDTI, South Western Railway, Cantonment Station

✅ Staff from BSTP, KRIDE, RVNL, and RPPL JV successfully attended the Indian Railways Safety Training Program conducted at MDDTI, South Western Railway, Cantonment Station.

📝 As part of the training, all participants successfully completed the assessment test. The Handbook of Safety Precautions for Worksites Adjacent to Live Tracks was also referred to during the session, reinforcing essential safety practices and compliance requirements for railway work environments.

⚡ E&M System Enabling Works – Inspection Updates

📍 Locations: C4A & C4B, C2B – BSTP Stations

🔹 Myadarahalli Station 🛗
Verification of Lift Pits 2 & 3 (Grid Nos. 08 & 09) at the Platform Level was completed .

🔹 Huskur Station 💡
The installation and fixing of insert plates in T-girders for lighting fixtures and cable tray supports at the Platform Level were checked.

🔹 Yeshvantpur Station 🏗️
Lift cut-outs (H07, H08, H09 & H11) and two 100 mm diameter sleeves for the Fire Hose Cabinet (FHC) between Grid Nos. 08–10 at Basement Level -1 were verified.

🔹 Rajanukunte Station ⬇️
The Escalator Pit and Sump Pit between Grid Nos. 06–07 at the Station Box Raft Level were verified .

🔹 Shettyhalli Station 📐
The LTE Shaft Cut-out (1250 × 1000 mm) between Grid Nos. 01–02 at the Station Box Raft Level was verified .

✅ All inspections were carried out to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to the approved construction drawings and project specifications.

Topic: Fire Extinguisher Use & Emergency Response

✅To reinforce a culture of safety and preparedness, an awareness training programme on the proper use of fire extinguishers and emergency response procedures was conducted for all labourers at the RVNL–RPPL JV, K-RIDE BSRP C4A, Huskur Casting Yard.

✅The session provided hands-on guidance on the PASS technique—Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep—enabling participants to respond confidently and effectively in the event of a fire emergency. In addition, the workforce was briefed on the importance of timely emergency reporting, safe evacuation practices, designated escape routes, and assembly point procedures.

✅Such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing workplace safety, building awareness, and ensuring that every team member is equipped to act swiftly and responsibly during emergencies. Together, we remain committed to maintaining a safe and resilient work environment for all.

Corridor–2 | Mallige Line | Packages 2 & 3

📍 Package 2 – At-grade section (Benaganahalli–Hebbal) | Length: 11.569 km

✅ Construction of 120 m of the Earth Retaining Structure (ERS)/retaining wall has been partially completed, with the remaining works in progress.
✅ MIB works are currently underway.

📍 Package 3 – At-grade section (Yeshvantpur–Chikkabanavara) | Length: 5.985 km

✅ Construction of 160 m of the Earth Retaining Structure (ERS)/retaining wall has been completed.
🔄 Road Under Bridge (RUB) 1 nos has been completed, with the balance works currently underway.
