Spring break isn’t just a vacation for educators. It’s recovery. Teaching is one of the few professions where you give your mind, your heart, your patience, and your energy to dozens or hundreds of young people every single day. After months of pouring out support, encouragement, and stability for others, it’s essential to pause and refill your own tank. Rest. Sleep. Laugh. Spend time with the people who refill you. Because when educators take time to reset, they return not just rested, but renewed. And that renewed energy becomes one of the greatest gifts they can give their students.
Consider this…many people HONESTLY BELIEVE teachers have an ‘easy job, with short hours, summers off, and amazing benefits’
AND YET, in the past 8 years, states have had a record number of teachers leaving the profession with fewer prospects than ever.
5 years ago today the schools closed. We went home not knowing when they would fully open again.
The way schools managed that period of distress and uncertainty was incredible and i don't think education has ever truly received the credit it deserves for that action.
If you think teachers have it easy, you’re in luck. America is currently short more than 320,000 teachers. Give it a try! 😏
Or give subbing a try…to get a taste.
I’m proud to have voted against the AEA attacks today - something my constituents overwhelmingly asked me to do. Because I work for them. Not the Governor.
All @iowahousedems also voted no, listening to Iowans.
They can rush it through if they want. Iowans will remember.
