I saw Obsession and Backrooms, two horror films by gen z directors with internet-video origins
Obsession was meh, 100% predictable but ppl seem to connect w the pop psychology premise of "codependency, amiright??"
Backrooms was profound, an exploration of a cosmogonic force that is in fact colonizing our reality through things like AI and standardization, creating eery facsimiles of the things that humans value but with garbled fidelity. When I walked out of the AMC theatre, I realized – with no small terror – that I still hadn't left the backrooms dimension (see photo below)
Obsession director Curry Barker confirmed his next film, Anything But Ghosts, will be in the same cinematic universe as Obsession and reference its plot.
Shawn Levy would "love" to see a BACKROOMS and STAR WARS crossover.
"I can’t help but be captivated by a ‘Backrooms’ x ‘Star Wars’ mashup—and luckily, I’ve got a little involvement in both so I’ll see what I can do"

@felasleepagain First 3-4 songs are pretty good but all go on for too long or just don’t stick with me
The second half is just a slog for me to get through
This must be the place could go on for half an hour and I wouldn’t get tired of it
ok but olivia NEEDS to drop multiple variants of all her records cuz she never knows what songs taylor and her co-writers are going to demand retroactive credits on.
the girl deserves to do more than just break even, ya know.
