Aksaray’ın Eskil ilçesinde İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürü İbrahim Kılıçer’in çocukların uzay ve bilim merakını geliştirmek amacıyla iki katlı kütüphane yaptırdı ve kütüphaneyi teleskop gibi birçok araştırma materyalleriyle donattı.

İlçenin AKP’li Belediye Başkanı Cüneyit Orhan Toprak ise, çocukların uzay, kitap, bilim gibi "gavur icadı" işlerle uğraşmasına karşı çıkarak kütüphanenin kapatılıp lokantaya çevrilmesi talimatını verdi.

İlçe Belediye Başkanı Cüneyit Orhan Toprak ve Kaymakam Taha Soydaş ile yaşadığı tartışmaların ardından görevden alınarak başka bir ilçeye öğretmen olarak atanan Kılıçer, bu sürecin ardından bir hafta sonra yaşamına son verdi.

Ekonomist Bartu Soral, olayı sosyal medya hesabından paylaşarak “Bilim düşmanlığı işte böyle bir şeydir” ifadeleriyle tepki gösterdi.
