@NewsHour @johnyangtv Illustrator Islenia Mil and I just had a nonfiction picture book about these brave and bold women come out with HarperCollins, "Lighthouse Ladies: Shining a Spotlight on Hardy Heroines"😀. Great idea for a girl power holiday gift! https://t.co/M99kWngKGv

Popping on real quick to say this really spoke to me @MonicaHesse! From one creative mama to another💪. I made writing time happen because I HAD to. My debut nonfiction picture book comes out next year with @ClarionBooks & I began researching it with a 2-year-old & 5-year-old.

"It means not waiting for inspiration to strike, but instead striking inspiration and wrestling it to the ground. Inspiration is a luxury: The ability to create something through sheer force of will is a more creative act than relying on a muse." https://t.co/E4nj6t5FGv
