An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training.

In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.

The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

I will continue to be vocal calling out ai in the sports design space.

I appreciate all the support on my recent tweets, it’s been a very tough week as a designer and you do start to wonder just how long have we really got. So many little issues that the average person will not notice but us designers do. The average consumer doesn’t care about ai morality, they don’t care who is and who isn’t getting paid, hence why it’s becoming such a huge thing.

Ultimately I know every time I tweet something negative that’s probably a job opportunity that’s vanished, however I have no intention of working at places that embrace ai art, I will never support it.

All of you enjoying it now. Just remember what it was doing to unconsenting women a few months ago. Remember what it was making of CHILDREN. If that’s something you want to embrace be my guest, however it is all incredibly immoral and will never truly replace real art.
