A senior once told me it’s smart for a clinic to keep a complaint book. An angry patient can vent on paper instead of on Google. The next day, the marketing team calls, acknowledges the issue, and thanks them for pointing out a problem. That simple loop - venting and being heard - defuses most anger.

Watching the NEET protests, I feel like that loop what is missing. Protests are often just pain looking for acknowledgment. People want someone in power to say, “We hear you.” Once that happens, they can live with the problem, even if it isn’t fixed immediately.

Listening solves more problems than we think.

गुटखा बंदी: आज १४ वर्षे झाली.

मी FDA आयुक्त असतांना महाराष्ट्रात जी १९/७/२०१२ रोजी गुटखा, पान मसाला, सुगंधी सुपारी यावर चहुबाजूंनी प्रचंड विरोध असतांना जी बंदी घालण्यात आली व ती दरवर्षी आतापर्यंत वाढव��ण्यात आली,
त्यास आज १४ वर्षे झाली.
त्या बंदीवर स्थगिती आणण्यासाठी गुटखा उत्पादकांनी उच्च आणि सर्वोच्च न्यायालयातून ज्या २० याचिका दाखल केल्या त्या निष्फळ ठरवण्यासाठी जे प्रयत्न करावे लागले ती केवळ न्यायालयीन लढाई नव्हती, ते महायुद्ध होते.
न्यायालयीन स्थगिती नाही येऊ दिली.
बंदी ��णणे अवघड असते पण ती अंमलात आणणे महाकठीण असते.
पण आहे तीच FDAयंत्रणा, पोलीस, महसूल, नगरपालिका इ च्या संयुक्त प्रयत्नांनी ती बंदी यशस्वी झाली.
गुटखा कारखाने बंद झाले, घाऊक आणि किरकोळ व्यापार थांबला, वाहतूक सुद्धा थांबली.
सुरवातीस जो गुटखा पकडला त्याचे १९ मोठे ट्रक्स एकाच वेळेस घेऊन मुंबईहून पोलिस बंदोबस्तात ताफा पुण्याकडे घेवून जाताना मी त्यासोबत स्वतः गेलो आणि तो हडपसरच्या इन्सिनरेशन ���ेंद्रात पूर्णपणे जाळून होईपर्यंत थांबलो…
थांबलो यासाठी की एखादा ट्रक परस्पर पुन्हा बाजारात येवू नये.
इन्सिनरेशन केंद्र परिसरात गुटखा जळताना त्याचा घमघमाट आसमंतात पसरला होता.
मी आयुक्त असेपर्यंत ही बंदी ��ाटेकोरपणे राबविली.
अर्थात त्याचा प्रसारमाध्यमात गाजावाजा करण्याची त्यावेळी प्रथा नव्हती.
बंदीच्या पहिल्या दोन वर्षात राज्यात बंदी आदेश न पाळणारा विरुद्ध १२०० FIRs दाखल केले,
१४०० जणांविरुद्ध न्यायालयात खटले दाखल केले,
कोट्यावधींचा गुटखा पकडून नष्ट केला आणि बंदी आदेश प्रखरतेने पण अत्यंत शांतपणे गाजावाजा न होता राबविले गेले.
दुर्दैवाने, माझ्या नंतर ती मोहीम पुढे चालू ठेवली गेली नाही कारण अवैध गुटखा हा भ्रष्टाचाराचे साधन बनविण्यात आले.
आता पुन्हा मोहीम सुरू झाली आहे असे प्रसारमाध्यमावरून समजते.

E10 cars are seeing a drop of 34% in mileage when using E20 petrol.

As per the test done by Cars24, mileage dropped from 22kmpl to 14kmpl while using E20 petrol in 2015 Maruti Desire.

We are paying more, burning more petrol to travel same distance.

We all are fooled big time.

To put Gary Sobers's genius in perspective

He played in 93 test matches
As a batting all-rounder, he bowled 21,599 balls in tests
That is 232 balls per test match

To put that in perspective
Anderson : 213 balls per test
Kapil Dev : 212
Steyn : 200
McGrath : 236
Kallis : 122

So he bowled more per test than the average front-line bowler of today, while being one of the all time great batsmen averaging 58!

During the late 60s, after the decline of Hall and Griffith, Sobers was the frontline bowler for West Indies often taking the new ball.

While his bowling average of 34 isn't exceptional, it was under 30 as a seam / swing bowler. The average suffered when he bowled spin

In terms of longevity, he played test cricket for 20 years, in an era when that was quite unusual. He scored runs against Ray Lindwall in the mid 50s, and Dennis Lillee in the early 70s..

His early years were in the old world where many of his opponents had started playing cricket pre-war, and in his evening years he played against cricketers who would carry on till the early 90s

In 74 of his 160 test innings he batted at #6 or lower. Yet managed a career average of 58! Imagine what he could've done without bowling all those donkey overs and being a top order bat at #3 or #4

Both Boycott and Ian Chappell, two of the hardest pundits to please, ranked him as the greatest batsman they ever saw (parking his bowling for a second).

And these two pundits had seen all post-war batsmen from Harvey and Hutton all the way up to Tendulkar, Lara, Smith, Ponting!

If people have bought E10 complaint vehicles 🚗 till 2023 due to govt policy & mandate then they should get E10 fuel ⛽️ till 2038
