Why was CSAT 2023 not only tough but bizarre?

First, let us understand the distribution.

Within quant, there were 28 questions from the Number system, 7 questions from probability, 1 question each from Time and Work, Compound interest, and Ages.

Now you see, 74% of quant questions were just from one topic and if you include probability to it then it becomes 92%.

Easy topics that could have been solved using formulas were missing.

This disproportionate distribution of questions made the paper really tough. Though, to solve these questions formulas were not needed. These could not have been solved under exam pressure, and that too without prior practice.

In reasoning too, easy topics were missing such as syllogism, directions, series & sequence, etc. The given questions in it were tough and confusing.

The only thing that saved many of us were RCs. The people who attempted all the RCs might have made through and those who were stuck with quant & reasoning are sadly out.

Have given so many exams, but never came across paper that had such a disproportionate distribution of quant questions and huge diversion from previous year themes.

Looking at this years paper, don't start solving number system and probability, there is no guarantee that same will be followed next year. Keep your preparation balanced, touch each topic and practice.

If any coaching is promising you that, their course will 100% help you sail through this exam then just stay away from that.

Costly test series might not help you. Purchase R.S.Agarwal and practice. For doubtful topics, search on YouTube, there are plenty videos available.

I consider my self lucky to have cleared CSAT this year.✌️

They were working for a Qatari company

This company is known to advise Qatari govt for its top secret Submarine program

On a side note,

this submarine program will have implications on India's security.

• Foreign Direct Investments

Qatar is rich!

With $82,000 per capita, it has one of the richest sovereign wealth fund

India needs this FDI for growth!
