So many things are out of kids’ control— uncomfy clothes, loud noises, icky food, confusing rules…
As an adult, I make my own choices.
I wear, eat, and do what I like, because if I don’t, I get overloaded.
That’s why I don’t remind you of your 8-year-old autistic nephew.
@gmtaylor I'm so sorry to hear about Rambo, G! All my condolences and supportive thoughts are yours. Can I do anything else to help? Run an errand? Something?!
It still shocks me that people wake up everyday and just feel... healthy. No pain, no fatigue, no headache, no stomach ache, no joint pains just... a body floating through the day. As a chronically ill person I literally cannot imagine or remember what that feels like.
@KerriSackville That we are living in a democracy.
That the political parties we put in power to 'govern' us have society's best interests foremost in their minds.
That if you work hard you shall receive your just rewards.
If I had it to do over I would make it a priority to become part of a tight group of friends who stayed in touch and had each other’s backs. I hv been by choice a loner, a wanderer. Most of my fam is gone now. I am finding old age to be a lonely place.
@RetroCrone Me too! Thanks @RetroCrone for articulating a phenomenon I've also been experiencing. Thanks also to other contributors to this thread. Really interesting, constructive input.
My friend's GP just said to her "yes ADHD is very fashionable at the moment". Imagine hearing a professional say that about any other medical condition. "Concussion is in vogue", "diabetes is all the rage"
I don't really know how many different ways I can say "the absence of masks is forcing high risk people out of society or forcing them to compromise their health boundaries just to participate in it," but I'm going to keep saying it 🤷
The people at Nazi rallies in the 1930s were told their country was going to hell, their leaders were weak, there were forces secretly controlling the govt behind the scenes, and only one man could save them leading a nationalist movement to fight the socialists and communists.
When the big day dawns and a treatment for #MECFS is finally found, the strain on mental health services will be colossal. Imagine millions of #pwME well enough to seek therapy after years of trauma, torment, loss, pain & PTSD from the shameful neglect by the medical profession.
@allyyarid Can you give me the Biblical references for each of those claims? It seems to me that you might be lying about what Christ actually said. And you know what that means, don't you?
@dalepartridge What is wrong with men that they want to be submitted to? Are they so inadequate that they can only feel good when someone else is put down? I am astonished you are prepared to confess to such desperate insecurity so publicly. Respect must work both ways otherwise it’s oppression
In anti-trans scam world, they reach for 1970s Scandinavian studies. So a girl who wanted to wear long pants instead of dresses (unwomanly!) would be sent to a psychologist. If she didn’t identify as transgender later … anti-trans scammers now count her as “detransitioned”.
Adding : this is the one mainstream article I've seen that notes the Australian system of care *already* follows all the recommended guidelines from the Tavistock report - The local furore emanating from the UK situation is dishonest, confected bullshit.

Really powerful (and funny) speech from @EmRusciano at the #NPC on #ADHD. Worth tracking down or listening in. By the time they reach adulthood, neuro-divergent kids have received 20,000 more negative pieces of feedback than those without ADHD, she says. Quite a thought.
