@GenePark Upgrading to a 5080 and an entirely new PC last year before the prices increased was such a huge bullet dodged for me. Loads of people I know were telling me to wait a year or two, but I went for it and now most of the parts in my machine have massively increased in value lol
@GenePark That's the thing about Nintendo, I might have to wait, but I know I'm getting another Metroid at some point. Any other publisher and I would be worried that Prime 4 would have been the end, or MercurySteam's financial troubles means no Dread follow up. But I'm still optimistic!
Browser based social games were honestly so cool though, they fulfilled the same job as social media but in a really quaint way. And it's never really been replicated since, even the "Metaverse" fell flat on its face.
Thinking about before I turned 13, and was old enough to use Facebook, when I used to use Runescape as an instant messenger to message my friends after school. As someone that grew up with the internet, it's fairly blatant how none of this is going to really meaningfully work.
@cheezman22@GamingKyuu39958@LordofCinder24@legend_sundial I think up to and past the opera it's good, feels like a precursor to games like Paper Mario, it's when you get to the latter half of the game it completely flips your expectations. That part of the game is astonishing, and completely magical that they achieved it in 1994.
@GenePark I only just got into JRPGs in the last year or so, and I'm wondering how I would have felt if I hadn't, but there was lots for me to get excited about. I get to jump into Xenoblade for the first time with the Switch 2 Edition and it shadow dropped today? Genuinely awesome!
@cookimyun I don't really notice these things much when I'm watching so it doesn't bother me, but the issue is it's like this because they don't hire enough animators for the scale of the production and the yearly release timeline, which is a really scummy labour issue ๐ญ
@iloveairbagged Chapters 2 to 4 are really strong IMO, everything else feels a bit rough. The first chapter is a proof of concept made by a small team so it's understandable, the last chapter is a dull open area with field bosses to wrap up the game quickly and avoid doing real level design.
@iloveairbagged I don't feel Wukong was made for the "three games a year crowd," but a lot of the three games per year crowd seemed to play it and push for it that year? Probably because of the absence of blockbuster titles. I thought it was a pretty great action game, falls short of Lies of P.
@GenePark@SynthPotato I finished it the other day, it's pretty fun... There's one moment where they pull out the "Zonai??? Secret stones????" line from Tears of the Kingdom and it got a huge laugh from me, with such comedic timing I feel like someone editing that scene knew how funny that line was
@GenePark@SynthPotato It's such a shame because I feel like the dragon stuff is one of the coolest things story wise Zelda has done since Link's Awakening or Majora's Mask, but the execution takes all the steam out of it. The final boss still kind of rules at least.
@__hibaq That's so sweet that you took the time ๐ญ I feel like he was really going for that "I'm not into these childish things/I don't do small talk just BIG talk" kind of line, it's never worked for any man ever bro stop, just be silly for a sec ๐ญ
@__hibaq Genuinely creasing at you having to explain why it's a very normal question ๐ญ can't believe I'm 30 now and can't be attracted to celebrities damn ๐
@__hibaq The games are really expensive now! It doesn't have the deals the Switch used to have. They wouldn't have grabbed me if they didn't drop a new Donkey Kong ๐
@GenePark "You were made of mold the whole time" is still one of the biggest laughs a game has ever got out of me. No series does camp quite like Resident Evil.
@manfightdragon I find it odd there's little mention of the most obvious point of contention between From and Sony: Sony shutting down Japan Studio. I think if there's a reason for From not wanting to work with Sony laying off their development partners that made Bloodborne possible will do it!
Crying "Family voting" from Labour, over the Greens winning, is really funny when you consider their party leader's name is literally KEIR. If my parents were so Labour they named me after a key founder of the Labour Party I'd probably find a different attack line...
