I’m asking for a one-time goodwill display replacement.
If the update is unrelated, I’m happy to hear why.
But asking a customer to spend $311 after this failure deserves better than “out of warranty.”

I bought a Galaxy S23 Ultra, in Dec 2025, immediately after a @SamsungMobileUS
software update, a permanent green line appeared.
No drop. No water damage. Phone works normally.
Samsung-authorized service denied my goodwill repair, asking $311 for a display replacement.

The green line is permanent and clearly visible during normal use.

The phone still functions, which makes this particularly frustrating: the device is otherwise perfectly usable, but the display now has a permanent defect.
