“The Brothers Karamazov” asks what we are living for, and it “seeks the answer in the little life, among the small people, in the frail, the fragile, the fallible, the failed,” Karl Ove Knausgaard writes. https://t.co/b78ZzveoKG

GSHTGP
Jesper Bratt has it written on his gloves so he can read it every single time he takes the ice
So what does it mean?
As you may know if you’ve been following this account for a while, one of the reasons Jesper Bratt is such an inspirational player to me is that he treats sports psychology just as seriously as he treats on-ice training. He (and now Nico Hischier) sees a mental skills coach as part of his offseason training. His mental skills coach in Sweden is a man named Andy Sward. I’ve seen Andy use this hashtag before, so when I saw it on Jesper’s glove, I asked Andy what it means. Here’s what he had to say:
“About 30 yrs ago, when the word ”karma” still was still seen as something abstract, not all my clients understood the whole concept of karma, I wanted to inspire my clients to do things for ”the right reasons” and do it to their best ability.
So I coined the expression GSHTGP. Once you do good things with great intentions then magic will happen.
This to encourage all my clients to keep on believing in the process, especially in tough times and setbacks. To have the right focus and mindset to Train/Practice hard, sleep well, prepare mentally & spiritually and rest our body and soul when needed.
So the expression stuck with all my clients, both as a reminder to stick to the plan, believe in that our mental tools and the work we put in those tools will pay of regardless of their chosen career Today
So to simplify the answer to your fantastic question #GSHTGP stands for
Good Shit Happens To Good People 😈🙏”
While JBITBPITNHL is still my favorite Jesper Bratt related hashtag, it looks like I will have to add GSHTGP into the rotation. So next time you cheer Jesper Bratt for scoring a goal, or you’re making a sign to bring to warm ups for him to see, let’s keep in mind his own personal mantra
