The RnD part is the most fun tho 😂 took me like a month to produce a back button cap that’s flat and a larger circumference than the ones you can buy in bulk. I thought it had a more satisfying finger rest position. Lots of trial to balance size and height

@DemonWorkshop @Flxnked Genius. I always wanted to do something similar but was awful at calibrating my 3d printer. Could never get tight enough tolerances to get a design that was replicable every time. You’re a builder after my own heart. These have to be the longest lasting controllers on market

@Gripp__ Look at the shoes brands like H&M and other fashion stores offer. Usually in the $40-$70 range, look like sneakers a lil bit but with “leather” (usually fake). Casual, but nicer.

Look, I think the biggest companies do some potentially shady things with their products for general consumers, but nobody gives enough of the bad credit to Sony for using shitty and outdated / cheap tech on their controllers for max profit and planned obsolescence.

@SibDMDL It’s not really on the controller company, it’s actually on Sony as the motherboards are really faulty and all have different values which end up causing problems like stick drift or the controller randomly breaking. BBC and scuf can’t really do anything about that

@KezCSM @BattleBeaver There is not currently a consumer friendly controller with Hall effect sensor sticks, good back buttons, and click triggers, but the tech now exists, and smaller shops are catching on. I’ve compiled the longest lasting controller parts list, but it’s not user friendly to build

@KezCSM @BattleBeaver They do. Full disclosure, my product I currently use is practically the exact same. I 3D printed my own trigger mounts, and I use the same Omron D2LS-11 switches for my triggers and bumpers. As well as the same back buttons. They use standard Alps thumbsticks and OEM replacements

@KezCSM @BattleBeaver That’s interesting and concerning. From what I know, them and Scuf are the two companies who have official licenses from Sony. This is usually to get the product cheaper direct from supplier. They could’ve had sourcing issues during Covid and needed to use those outlets for stock

@KezCSM @BattleBeaver convinced they buy used motherboards boards and piece them together to save money. Not on every controller, but just at random, dependent on who is building your controller that day. I’ve never gotten stick drift faster than when I use one of their controllers.

@Gripp__ It helps build legitimacy too if you start dropping crazy numbers, or if you do it semi regularly. It’s good to be transparent so people can check your gameplay and verify that you’re legit, and not just coming out of nowhere as a demon.
