My dad (87) asked me (55) if I knew who #BadBunny is—BB was in AARP magazine. I had an immediate flashback to, like, 20 years ago, when he saw Usher on the Grammys and wanted to know if I knew Usher was a Christian—he thanked God in his speech. Please stop giving dad media.
@racheljwelcher I’m so sorry. Our child unexpectedly announced my pregnancy to my whole church when he went to the front to go to the children’s church time. I miscarried 3 days later and spent several weeks telling everyone their congrats were no longer necessary.
@miketuttle@JasonIsbell He signed a book for me after a speech early in his career. But first he apologized to me still having dirt under his nails, because he'd been working in his garden before he caught his morning flight to our writer's conference in Michigan. He's a gift to your state!
@RobertK22245756 @costiwhinn I’ll be clearer, many of us who profess to be Christians in the US don’t show love for the planet or for the marginalized people of the world. Gen Z sees that and sees the difference between our actions and God’s call for us to love our neighbor and his creation.
@BriceCollin We had one landline for the 4 of us in my college suite. Our long distance bill was something like $500/mo because a girl from an hour away had a boyfriend at home.
@costiwhinn God help us, they see the absolute chasm between the love we profess and the poor excuse for love (for the planet, for the marginalized) that we live out.
Whatever this is, it’s real. Watch the OFFICIAL TEASER for FX’s Kindred, a new series based on Octavia E. Butler’s critically acclaimed novel. All Episodes Streaming December 13th. Only on Hulu.
If our Christianity causes us to only care about what people believe theologically and not if people have all they need to survive, be healthy, be successful, and flourish, then our picture of salvation is simply not as big as Jesus.
@Ryan7518229 Schools should have been the priority to keep open, not bars and restaurants, if we wanted to keep deaths to a minimum and still not harm our kids. That said, the pandemic was a new unknown and no one had all the answers at the time. Election denial is an ongoing, real danger.
Years ago, before verified accounts were a thing, back when I was on Eastenders, I was contacted multiple times by parents of children who had been “conversing” with me online. 11-15 year old children that had been talking with a fake me.
I was informed one of these children-
@JenaFriedman It’s so bad in the beginning. No one told me. Excruciating. I used formula occasionally for evening babysitters but not until I was past the worst of it. The wild thing is I came to love it and did it twice more, but the first months were pretty traumatic with my first child.
