This week I’ll hit 70,000 words on my creative project. At least 15k to go before the first draft feels right. And yes, I’m still doing my PhD too. Apparently I need to do both creative and academic work at the same time to feel any kind of joy in life. :D

The book I’m writing is set, in part, in 1995. I just found my journals from that year and oh boy. The drama. The angst. The truly terrible poetry. But I was right about how I remembered a certain relationship. Some pain really does cut through time, doesn’t it?

I recently watched Dig! (I know, I’m 20 years late) and I can’t stop thinking about how perfect it is. The chaos, the ego, the delusion, the genius. I’ve watched so many music documentaries and this is by far the best, imo.

I’m nearly halfway through writing my novel and would love to find an online writers group. Ideally something supportive where I can share ideas and connect with others. If you’re part of one or have suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
