Just finished reading this book..mind blowing! ๐คฏ I'm inspired! Yet also hesitant on trying it out on my own..it would take time and effort, but could be so impactful for the kids! #RethinkingGrading
@FaheyCarrier Yes! It is so tempting for me to multitask when the students trickle in, so I want to intentionally do fewer things to be present with my students right away. #iaedchat
A3: I greet my students every morning (with a handshake too when there isn't sickness going around.) I'm also trying to be present in the classroom and refrain from multitasking so much. #iaedchat
Here's one of my getaway study spots! "You Are What You Love" really challenges me to think about how everything I choose to do or do without thinking, forms who I am. ๐ค #du501
Five questions for inappropriate behavior:
1. Why do you think that is ok?
2. Where did u learn this (behavior)?
3. Who in your life believes thatโs ok?
4. How can you help fix this?
5. What can we/you do differently?

I'm going to need this the next 2 years! I must remember to reinforce the good I see and give them language to practice empathy and clear communication.

A5: In a way, it's like scaffolding. You see what students can do on their own, and then give them just as much support as they need to accomplish the task. But I'm not sure how we would measure it out. #iaedchat
@townsleyaj That's a really good question! Each kid is so different and some need to learn how to struggle through, yet we also need to know when to stop pushing.
