8th grader daughter social studies assignment: Each student given $5 to make a small improvement in our community. She bought bread, pb, & honey to make sandwiches for unhoused folks. Just looked in the fridge & saw what she wrote on them.

Every year, I publish the names of the unhoused dead, with what scant information and recollections I can find about them.

I get emails months and years later from loved ones learning that they've died, and sharing what memories they have. It breaks my heart every time.
