The kids taught everyone a word: “Drip.” Every time someone opened clothing, we would hear, “Oooh, sweatshirt drip.” Neon drip. Hat drip. But the best was when my dad opened his nail gun & said, “Home Depot drip.” And we were like, “That’s not how you say it”

Christmas Eve looks different this year. But it’s filled with gratitude, joy, and family. I love the memories made on Christmas. I used to love spending Christmas Eve at my Oma and Opa’s house, playing pool in the basement, getting scolded for taking too many shrimp cocktail.

As my friend from the Bronx says, you may not be Italian, but you’re a “guidette.”

And that’s on period.

I have some big news. My short story collection ONE SQUARE MILE will be published by the Mad Duck Coalition.@ThMaDuCo is a publishing house for the “intellectually curious.” I’m thrilled for the collection, a passion project and very personal work of mine, to have found a home.

Well, actually, we were putting the Barbies in their different vehicles and pushing them down the stairs. We watched the car careen down the stairs and tried to guess which dolls would survive. I was never one to play the right way. And always a touch of the macabre.
