lots of people hate Pitchfork, and music journalism in general, just because they disagree with writers' opinions—but without a robust music journalism sphere though, we rely on algorithmic & unpaid fan labor for music discovery. neither RYM or Spotify Radio can replace critics.
I've referred to my job at pitchfork as being on a ferris wheel at closing time, just waiting for them to yank me down. after nearly 8 yrs, mass layoffs got me. glad we could spend that time trying to make it a less dude-ish place just for GQ to end up at the helm

@steviemctweets The TAM slide is useful if it shows the difference between the TAM and the Total Serviceable Market, and what what needs to happen to grow the TSM within the larger TAM. This demonstrates the founder’s level of understanding how the product fits within the market.
@steviemctweets also, bottom up is way more powerful than top down. show the market is large and then show you have an idea that has the potential to grab a share of it with a plan that is awesome and well thought out.
