@591actual I recently left the industry, but still live on a farm. The skillset you acquire in ag is very transportable. If you're not happy, make a change. Life is too short. Don't go looking for greener grass though, it doesn't exist, it's still grass but it's just different.
@BarkmanBarry Landforming with an RTK drainage system, tiling fields and building dikes, and then cultivating crops like wild rice or cranberries may be an avenue. Where we live, it's often easier to source water than it is to get rid of it.
@milehalfvalley @mat_schmaltz @PierrePoilievre Completely true, we are in the bottom of the 5th largest lake watershed in the world. Not much of it around but we really need tile drainage and dikes with pumping stations for our agricultural lands. Higher than average precipitation will always cause problems for us.
