Hippo fluid scene pushed to 100M particles made with HydroFX. Foam, bubbles, and spray all simmed together in one system for a cohesive result, fully GPU accelerated. Meshed + extra sand interaction in Houdini, final lookdev/render in Blender. Get HydroFX https://t.co/1aKDxmZK9V
@GAMERTAGVR I'm a genuine fan of this game and gutted the player count is so low. Some of their bigger maps (like Battlewar) can have up to 50 players on PC and when full are EPIC. Sadly never enough online to make it viable anymore.
@GAMERTAGVR God I hope so. I love this game in VR but the underlying jank is just too much to make it enjoyable. This looks like they are going to add the PSVR2 quality-of-life changes which would be amazing. Might break a few mods though!
@gingasvr I'll be joining the ranks of the creators in the next few weeks. PCVR focused, High End VR focused. Cinematic VR gameplay on 5090. No uploads yet (finalising workflows) but aiming for launch start of September. Channel name @BeyondNextGen :)
@GAMERTAGVR I actually booted the original last night to see how far I could push it on my new 5090. Got 120fps at 310% Steam rez! Even potato graphics pop when the rez is that high...quite impressed.
This was the most game-tech oriented, but also the longest, and one of the funniest discussions on this show. @antovsky has incredible knowledge and skills, and he's willing to lay it all out in an open and honest discussion!
We talk about tech for motion tracking, VR, how the grand project Dreams was being developed, but also comparison of style of working in AAA game industry vs Google, or how Anton, low level C/C++ programmer, had journeyed into a month-long adventure building MONSUMO TV with his AI help :)
Never expected to stay past midnight breaking in laughter! @antovsky this was awesome! Thank you so much for this talk!
PS.
Life can't be too pretty. My sound is botched, my beloved OS has switched my mic to 44.1 kHz while recording software was prepared for 48 kHz. I amped the pitch in post, but you can see the audio artifacts when I speak, making it a bit difficult to understand what I'm saying. Sorry about that!
@vaccaro3d Think it comes down to your budget and target frames/rez. I'd say the absolute sweet spot would be a 2nd hand 4080..stunning card if you can find it below $700. Good for 4k 60fps on any modern title. 50 series an over-priced refresh with only 5090 offering gen-on-gen gains.
It's always a surprise to hear what Nat and Joel come up with for these little snippets. I give them zero direction or insight into the characters and fully trust their process 😀
@DukeGunston I dont need the story. I just need to see a full-length (well at least 3 round) fight between some of these guys.
Happy to supply commentary audio :p
@BattleAxeVR Interesting collection of thoughts...but can it be done?! Certainly with every mod I've tried, FG is insta-crash. Game seemingly doesnt know what to output. The curious outlier there is Hitman VR which seems to have functioning FG in VR. Not sure what they do that others dont?
@GAMERTAGVR@NVIDIAGeForceUK As someone who went from 3080 to 4080, can tell you wont regret it. The 35% extra performance helps you up your rez and puts RT games in scope as well. Just a warning though that frame gen is largely useless in VR. Crashes both Luke Ross and UEVR mods.
@dlss_swapper Only just came across your program but rather glad I did. This advanced preview of the Transformer model has made my weekend (it"s soooo good)...thank you for your work!
@CkYLee@BeardoBenjoYT@Flat2VR Aaaah yeah Luke says it can only be 3DOF due to the aiming system. 6DOF is in cut scenes but not during gameplay. That's a shame!
