Tune in to hear from my brilliant colleagues about their important work in understanding barriers to increasing/retaining teacher diversity in Allegheny County!
@timgill924 Stahpppp. Work-life balance is something to practice now. Yes, do the work. And also, self care. If self care means taking a break to see an amazing movie or two, do it. The work will always be there. Learn now to set healthy boundaries and resist the hustle-or-die culture.
This is heartbreaking. We KNOW this matters. We've known for YEARS. This speaks to the high teacher burnout that is not getting the attention it deserves.
I've come across A LOT of good 17th- and 18th-century Quaker names over the past 3.5 years, as I've worked on my thesis. Now that my thesis is done and submission is near, it's time to share the more than 90 wildest early Quaker names I've found (in alphabetical order):
OMG so much this. Why do we tolerate it? It's asinine. Don't ask me how "we" are doing - I can't answer for you. And please don't call me "Mom" - my kids don't even call me that.
@tressiemcphd Not a you problem. It has driven me crazy since I was a kid. Now that I have kids, I wish I had a dollar for every time a care provider refers to me as "Mom".
@JessicaCalarco The notion that she is in the right for stalking unfamiliar children and shaming their mom instead of you being in the right for finding a safe way to promote their independence is ass-backwards. Screw that. UGH.
