In 1854, he ran for the Senate and lost.
In 1856, he ran for Vice President, he didn't even have 100 votes.
In '58, he ran again for the Senate and lost again.

And in 1860 ABRAHAM LINCOLN was elected President of the United States of America 🇺🇸.
He was elected for two exceptional terms (he was assassinated in beginning of the second term.) He was one of the most respected and impactful Presidents in the history of the United States 🇺🇸.

It's important to tell this story of perseverance because we see the hero, but we don't see the backstage of the afflictions. "

They keep hiding behind “attendance isn’t required” like that settles the matter.

But here’s what people should be asking…

Why would 70 Democrats choose to bail on a formal constitutional exchange where the President is required under Article II, Section 3 to give information to Congress?

Why remove yourself from the room when the State of the Union is being delivered?

If this is just “political theater,” as they claim… then why not show up, listen, and rebut?

Unless the strategy isn’t protest.

Unless the strategy is narrative control.

When you don’t sit in the chamber, you don’t react on camera.
You don’t applaud.
You don’t acknowledge.
You don’t legitimize.
You don’t allow your constituents to see you engaged in the exchange.

Instead, you pre-frame it.
You filter it.
You reinterpret it for your audience afterward.

So the question becomes uncomfortable…

Are they avoiding the moment because they don’t want the data landing unfiltered with the American people?

That’s what I think.

Are they trying to ensure their voters only receive a processed version of what was said?

Do they decide what you are allowed to hear directly… and what must be mediated through their spin?

Seventy members choosing contemptuous absence during a constitutional information exchange isn’t proof of bravery.

It raises a far more serious question:

What are they afraid will be heard without them in the room to immediately distort it? Hiding what?

Leadership shows up.
Control avoids exposure.

The public is watching.

This image tells a truth many try to ignore…

Black Americans have always claimed their place in this nation… not as outsiders, not as victims, but as citizens standing under the same flag and demanding the constitutional promises owed to them.

Black American families frequently participated in patriotic imagery during the early 1900s, especially after Reconstruction and into the Jim Crow era. Public displays of the American flag by Black citizens were common. They were deliberate… a statement of belonging, citizenship, and a declaration that the Constitution applied to them despite discrimination.

Photographers used patriotic symbolism to show dignity, family structure, loyalty, and American identity… challenging stereotypes by presenting Black families as rooted, proud, and fully American.

This is what Democrats do *not* want for Black Americans today… strong families grounded in identity, claiming ownership of their nation, standing under the flag rather than being taught to reject it.

This image is not just history… it is a reminder of who Black Americans were… and who they can still be.
