I accidentally left my phone open and on with this sequence playing for a whole night a few weeks ago. I think it was in my dreams and I was on an elevator taking me to happy town.
@wincapital_ Investigate? Diana is actually a really good player, people underestimate her, and Sabalenka had an off day. It’s not like we haven’t seen off days from Sabalenka before. When she’s off, she’s very off
The amount of hate and ridicule that Sabalenka is getting for her collapse is so much more than what Sinner got, and he arguably collapsed even more.
For him, everyone places the blame on some external factor. For her, everyone is quick to say she is mentally weak.
I feel like the range of options at Dunkin’ Donuts these days is either like, 10 calorie cold brew or 850 calorie Barbie pink bonanza surprise drink. Where’s the moderation
@DanWolken Don’t be so dramatic. Sabalenka is clearly the most talented of all of these women, so what if she can’t win every single time. The pressure of her talent probably gets to be a lot at times
🇯🇵 Midori Ito's free skate to "A Classical Rock" and "Concerto No. 1 for Piano" at the 1988 NHK Trophy, where she became the first woman to land a triple Axel
@Wakawarrior1 I was thinking about this recently. I was like, why is it so easy to find such random, old footage of stuff but newer stuff is an enigma? Part of it might be that older stuff doesn’t have lyrics, but still.
Also, are all of these people actually putting weight on that leg, or are they just sweeping very close to the ground? It seems there is a distinction.
I skated for a very large chunk of my life and didn’t realize there was an official ‘name’ for the type of salchow being referred to as a 2-footed salchow. I just always thought it was the technique being used. (A technique which I was never encouraged to use btw).
see this is where the whole "you can't talk about skating unless you're a skater" crowd actually kinda makes sense to me. luckily i am not actively trying to comvince the masses on who jumps better.
