This is a great example of how SNL was a cultural monolith. This parody of Sportscenter's Stuart Scott's catchphrases actually led to Sportcenter adopting "Sweet sassy molassy" as a real catchphrase. In '99, if you were into sports, you couldn't avoid it.

Even Scott in his memoir noted after the sketch became a big hit that "Wow, I guess I am this thing called a “celebrity.” He even ran into Ray Romano at a golf tournament who was quick to apologize and exclaim “You know, I didn't write that thing.”
