On the eve of the 2016 presidential election, I wrote in a September 30 Washington Post column that newly minted Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump “…is, without question, an ignorant, undisciplined, ranting bully who exaggerates and lies without shame. He wears a tough-guy masculinity but is actually a coward who picks on women, demeans minorities and is thoroughly lacking in human decency.”[ https://t.co/2D4uHQxvJd”.
And I added, “Repulsive though he is, nominee Trump’s character defects aren’t what make him a threat. What does sicken and alarm, and what ought to concentrate African American minds, is the thought of Trump with the powers of the presidency in his hands. Therein lies the danger.”
Trump’s classless and racially tinged actions during his first term, and now 18 months of trashy, vindictive, and irrational behavior during his second term only confirm the accuracy of my ten-year-old warning and prediction.
It therefore should have come as no surprise that Trump would use the South Lawn of the White House as he did on Sunday night to stage an eight-sided cage match for a bloody UFC brawl in honor of his 80th birthday. Just as it was also in character for Trump to feature his favorite UFC fighter, Josh Hokit, and winner of his heavyweight bout, who proceeded to use his victory platform to make a vile remark about former First Lady Michelle Obama, the embodiment of class, intelligence, taste and beauty far beyond Hokit’s reach, aspiration or imagination.
The presence of disgusting and vulgar mixed-martial artist Hokit on White House grounds only added to the national disgrace that Trump inflicted on America Sunday night. Which also happen to have been Flag Day.
Election Day November 3 can’t come soon enough.

Vance and Senior Trump Admin confirming the $300 BILLION reconstruction fund offer is real.
If this was the Obama Deal, MAGA would be LOSING THEIR MINDS.
And rightfully so.
Despite not being on the ballot this November, President Donald Trump will be a major focus during the Republican National Committee's midterm convention. https://t.co/nVQFIrheqz
Medicaid cuts and work requirements impact the most vulnerable more than anyone else. We must have compassion for the most vulnerable, not make it harder for them to live in our nation. https://t.co/wCV3FFa1P8
Vance just admitted we are paying Iran $300 BILLION in reparations.
After losing the First World War, Germany paid US$5 billion (22 billion gold marks) in contemporary currency. Adjusted for inflation, that was still only around $90-95 billion in today's dollars.

NEW: California Gov. Gavin Newsom said the DOJ has been trying to question his friends, family members and former employees as part of an investigation into him.
Newsom, an outspoken Trump critic, said the probe is retaliation for his opposition to the president and his political aspiration. https://t.co/gdTjEtBEju
Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime - they are simply trying to find one.
He isn't coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President.
He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history.
We have nothing to hide.
Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere.
The country is watching.

To all those who berated me on this platform for doubting that Trump cared about the human rights or democratic aspirations of the Iranian people, I accept your apology.
McDonald's announced they're replacing cashiers with kiosks in California just after the $20 minimum wage kicked in. Shocking to absolutely no one who understands basic economics. When you artificially price labor above its market value, employers find substitutes. Machines, automation, or they simply eliminate positions entirely.
The teenagers who desperately need that first job experience? Gone. The single mother trying to re-enter the workforce after years away? Priced out by someone with more skills. You've just created a legal barrier that prevents the least skilled workers from competing on the one thing they had going for them: willingness to work for less while they build experience.
Politicians pat themselves on the back for "helping workers" while unemployment among young minorities hits double digits. The workers who keep their jobs benefit (temporarily), but the invisible victims, those who never get hired in the first place, don't make headlines. Economics doesn't care about your good intentions.
