🔥 Rep. @brotherjones_ to @WilliamLamberth: “I just wanted to look you in the eye and tell you you’ll be in the history books with George Wallace and Bull Connor, and your children will be ashamed of where you stand by presenting these racist maps. You all are out of order for bringing us back here for this racist special session.”

A man spends 50 years teaching at MIT.
He knows his time is running out.
So he records one last lecture — everything he knows, distilled into a single hour.
He died 5 months later.
This is that lecture.
The most important hour you'll watch this week. 👇

For my entire life it has been true that every time Republicans are in power, they increase deficit spending, and whenever they aren't in power, they complain about deficit spending and pinky swear they will reduce deficit spending if only you vote them back into power. And what do they use that spending for? Tax cuts for the rich, subsidies for big corporate donors, and wars in the Middle East.
If you voted Republicans into power again in the belief they would reduce the deficit and not go to war, sorry, but you were lied to and you fell for it, despite being able to learn from the past to avoid that.
Yes, you voted for all of this. You may not understand that you did, but you did. This is all just the newest variation of what we see every time the GOP gets handed the reigns of the economy.
Democrats need to stop playing this game and instead use deficit spending to make our lives better by focusing on our basic needs and our costs of living. Spend less on the military and more on healthcare and a basic income floor.
Also, to hell with the two party system. We need more choices. We need other parties to win via proportional representation.
Simmons: The president hasn't done anything to ask of his friends to put in the pot. They're only asking the American people to pay more at the gas station.
Lyman: He’s giving up his salary
Mockler: Trump doesn't take his salary, but he's made $4 billion on cryptocurrency. He's taken an economy that was steady handed when Joe Biden—
Lyman: Steady handed!?
Mockler: What was the inflation rate when Joe Biden left? 2.9%. We now have predictions it will go up to 5%
The President of the United States learned that Robert Mueller had died.
And he picked up his phone and typed:
“Good. I’m glad he’s dead.”
I need you to stop.
Put down whatever you’re doing and feel the full weight of those words.
Good. I’m glad he’s dead.
Said by the man who holds the most powerful office in the history of human civilization. The office of Washington. Of Lincoln. Of Roosevelt standing in the rubble of Pearl Harbor promising a nation trembling in the dark that we would rise.
That office.
Those words.
Now let me tell you who Robert Mueller was.
He did not have to go to Vietnam.
He had every reason not to. A Princeton degree. A blown-out knee. A future waiting for him in the comfort of civilian life.
He waited a full year for that knee to heal, just so he could serve.
Let that sink in.
He walked into hell when other men were running from it. He came home with a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart soaked in the blood of his sacrifice. He spent the next four decades standing in the breach, as a prosecutor, as FBI Director, as the man who held this nation together in the smoldering ash of September 12th, 2001, when we were all afraid and we needed someone steady, someone serious, someone who loved this country more than he loved himself.
He was all of those things.
He was a Republican.
He was, by every honest measure, an American hero.
And the President danced on his grave.
Just going to keep posting this to counter the ridiculous bullshit until someone makes me stop.
The Special Counsel investigation uncovered extensive criminal activity
•The investigation produced 37 indictments; seven guilty pleas or convictions; and compelling evidence that the president obstructed justice on multiple occasions. Mueller also uncovered and referred 14 criminal matters to other components of the Department of Justice.
•Trump associates repeatedly lied to investigators about their contacts with Russians, and President Trump refused to answer questions about his efforts to impede federal proceedings and influence the testimony of witnesses.
•A statement signed by over 1,000 former federal prosecutors concluded that if any other American engaged in the same efforts to impede federal proceedings the way Trump did, they would likely be indicted for multiple charges of obstruction of justice.
Russia engaged in extensive attacks on the U.S. election system in 2016
•Russian interference in the 2016 election was “sweeping and systemic.”[1]
•Major attack avenues included a social media “information warfare” campaign that “favored” candidate Trump[2] and the hacking of Clinton campaign-related databases and release of stolen materials through Russian-created entities and Wikileaks.[3]
•Russia also targeted databases in many states related to administering elections gaining access to information for millions of registered voters.[4]
The investigation “identified numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign” and established that the Trump Campaign “showed interest in WikiLeaks's releases of documents and welcomed their potential to damage candidate Clinton”
•In 2015 and 2016, Michael Cohen pursued a hotel/residence project in Moscow on behalf of Trump while he was campaigning for President.[5]Then-candidate Trump personally signed a letter of intent.
•Senior members of the Trump campaign, including Paul Manafort, Donald Trump, Jr., and Jared Kushner took a June 9, 2016, meeting with Russian nationals at Trump Tower, New York, after outreach from an intermediary informed Trump, Jr., that the Russians had derogatory information on Clinton that was “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”[6]
•Beginning in June 2016, a Trump associate “forecast to senior [Trump] Campaign officials that WikiLeaks would release information damaging to candidate Clinton.”[7] A section of the Report that remains heavily redacted suggests that Roger Stone was this associate and that he had significant contacts with the campaign about Wikileaks.[8]
•The Report described multiple occasions where Trump associates lied to investigators about Trump associate contacts with Russia. Trump associates George Papadopoulos, Rick Gates, Michael Flynn, and Michael Cohen all admitted that they made false statements to federal investigators or to Congress about their contacts. In addition, Roger Stone faces trial this fall for obstruction of justice, five counts of making false statements, and one count of witness tampering.
•The Report contains no evidence that any Trump campaign official reported their contacts with Russia or WikiLeaks to U.S. law enforcement authorities during the campaign or presidential transition, despite public reports on Russian hacking starting in June 2016 and candidate Trump’s August 2016 intelligence briefing warning him that Russia was seeking to interfere in the election.
•The Report raised questions about why Trump associates and then-candidate Trump repeatedly asserted Trump had no connections to Russia.[9]
People easily forget what Robert Mueller was tasked with investigating: evidence of conspiracy and obstruction of justice.
In the course of that investigation, a dozen GRU officers attached to Unit 26165 were indicted, as were Yevgeny Prigozhin, two of his shell companies, and a dozen of his troll farm employees. The charges leveled against these Russians were conspiracy to commit offenses against, or defraud, the United States, identity theft, money laundering and wire and bank fraud.
The Mueller investigation wasn't, properly speaking, a counterintelligence investigation.
That work fell to the Republican-led Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), which released its conclusions in five different volumes beginning in July 2019, far more comprehensive and detailed than the Mueller Report, although they individually and collectively garnered a fraction of the attention.
"No probe into this matter has been more exhaustive," said the acting SSCI head in August 2020, when the fifth and final volume was released. He was right and deserves a lot of credit in getting to the bottom of Russian active measures and election interference in the 2016 presidential contest.
His name was Marco Rubio.

🚨 NBC: Trump administration officials confirmed to Congress in a closed-door briefing that the US was responsible for targeting the area where an Iranian girls’ school was struck.
Scores of children killed.
Not Iran. Not a misfire. Not collateral damage from someone else.
Us.
The White House posted bomb videos like highlight reels. Hegseth bragged about “death and destruction from the sky all day long.” Trump did a victory lap this morning.
And behind closed doors — they told Congress we killed children at a school.
This is now confirmed by the administration itself.
Say their names.
2011 video of Trump is going viral after Iran attack:
"Our president will start a war with Iran because he has no ability to negotiate. He's weak and he's ineffective."
This morning I called James and congratulated him on becoming the Senate nominee. Texas is primed to turn blue and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I’m committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot.
