Cop Under Fire for Alleged Refusal to File Complaint in 5-Year-Old's Molestation Case

Massive public anger and condemnation have erupted after a video surfaced from Ichalkaranji in Kolhapur district, showing an on-duty police officer allegedly refusing to register a complaint regarding the sexual assault / inappropriate touch of a five-year-old girl. In the viral video, the distressed mother is seen pleading for police intervention and legal action under the POCSO Act, while the officer dismissively refuses to entertain the matter and arrogantly directs her to approach the court directly. The disturbing apathy has drawn severe backlash across social media and civil society, prompting calls to the Special Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur Range) and senior authorities to take immediate disciplinary and legal action against the personnel involved.
